Costa Rica Biking This beautiful country
is rich with magnificent volcanoes, abundant rain forests, wild
rivers, incredible wildlife and many riding options suited for
beginners and advanced riders alike. Biking around the country is the best way to experience local culture as people you see greet you on the road. As a courtesy, wave back or sound off a friendly “Pura Vida!” A bike tour is the perfect way to explore the spectacular diversity of nature. Just imagine rounding a corner to encounter a tree filled with 20 howler monkeys, cresting a hill to spot a live, erupting volcano or biking down a pristine tropical beach with an incredible sunset as the backdrop. All of these and much more will be possible on this itinerary. Optional activities available include hiking, horseback riding, a waterfall tour, a botanical garden with butterfly garden too, serpentarium tour, sea-kayaking, snorkel trip, marine tour, even world-class sport fishing are all available. Along with all these activities we also will have plenty of time to relax. Our selection of hotels and lodges features small, comfortable country inns, most with pools for your relaxation after the daily ride. Meals are excellent in Costa Rica, with a wide variety of choices available, including outstanding fresh seafood. You will also have a chance to sample exotic tropical fruits such as cas, guanabana, maracuya and many more. Even the banana is a real treat here as the locals do not harvest them green! Several local tour companies offer group tours like Aventuras Naturales, Costa Rica Adventures and Wildlife, Costaricabike, Costa Rica Tropical Cycling, among many others. Most are suitable for all
level of competence, but check in advance the kind of terrain and
distance involved on the trip. Don’t be put off by the fact that the
majority of the tours involve cycling on the volcanoes, so you’ll be
cycling up and not down as the majority of the times.
